How do I use Adventures in America with my third or fourth grader?

Paige -

A third or fourth grader can also benefit greatly from this program!

We do strongly recommend that older students complete all of the optional read alouds (and you might want to assign these as readers instead), and that you incorporate as many of the picture books as you can.  The picture books add depth to the stories in the guide, as well as providing a visual portrayal of the events.

Older students should write their own narrations, and should add details to their State maps in their notebook.  Details might include important geographical features, other big cities, or significant sites.
